  8. This archive contains various extras for KingFisher 2.26. In particular,
  9. you will find here...
  10.  
  11.   - The KingFisher 2 developer  kit, enabling you to directly access the
  12.     KingFisher database server,
  13.  
  14.   - ARexx example scripts to get you started exploring RexxFisher, which
  15.     provides  an  ARexx  interface  to  the  KingFisher database server.
  16.     RexxFisher enables  you to retrieve data from  KingFisher  databases
  17.     (and more) using ARexx scripts,
  18.  
  19.   - A variety of examples to use as custom display/print/export formats,
  20.     if the standard data layout doesn't satisfy your needs,
  21.  
  22.   - Some example gadget images that KingFisher (the  GUI)  can load  and
  23.     use to replace its own  button images.  This can be great fun if you
  24.     think my buttons suck,  ;-)
  25.  
  26.   - Several Search Sets that you can immediately load instead of waiting
  27.     through the same search again. This  demonstrates how much  time you
  28.     can save with Search Sets,
  29.  
  30. This archive does NOT contain a database, nor does it contain KingFisher
  31. itself (the software.) These are extras that are not needed by everyone,

  51. KINGFISHER 2 FEATURE OVERVIEW:
  52.  
  53.   - Client-Server technology provides multiple users (or multiple copies
  54.     of  KingFisher) access to  multiple  databases, but does  not hinder
  55.     single-user operations,
  56.  
  57.   - KingFisher's resizable GadTools  interface  honors  the proportional
  58.     system font (or any font  of your choosing) and can be opened on the
  59.     default public, and on custom screens,
  60.  
  61.   - Search operations can  produce  Search Sets  which may be saved  and
  62.     reloaded, to  provide instant  access to any previously found record
  63.     in the database,
  64.  
  65.   - Database-specific  display, print,  and export  presentation formats
  66.     can be defined to produce any desired database presentation,
  67.  
  68.   - Hotlinked Product-Info files can be viewed directly;  updates to the
  69.     file are immediately  reflected by  KingFisher;  also view clipboard
  70.     contents directly,
  71.  
  72.   - Powerful search expressions, including embedded support for AmigaDOS
  73.     regular expressions, are maintained in  a history list whose size is
  74.     user-definable,  and each of which can be recalled for re-use at any
  75.     time,

  77.   - Ability to reconstruct the index files and construct VersionLinks in
  78.     release-order to browse related software versions,
  79.  
  80.   - Through RexxFisher  (the  ARexx interface to the server)  the  user-
  81.     definable  data  presentation  formats  and the same powerful search
  82.     expressions used  by KingFisher are available to any program with an
  83.     ARexx interface!

  85. Registration for this software is $20(US)  or  DM30. Future upgrades are
  86. free (by way of Aminet or ftp.)  The developer kit is now available free
  87. of charge to registered and unregistered users alike.
